2023 Campus Couture Fashion Show
The collection Between Worlds is meant to give off the feeling that you are entering a different world. Inspired by a lot of artwork, I was able to build a place that would help transport me into a new atmosphere. The images that inspired me and my designs seem so distant from reality yet somewhat familiar. The colors and luminescence also play a big part in my inspiration. I hope my collection allows you to shatter the glass between reality and fantasy and get stuck Between Worlds.

Description: Created through draping, this look consists of a lace up corset and a bias cut skirt. The corset has sewn in bra cups and is supported with ¼” spiral steel boning in each gold channel. The gold channel detailing adorning the corset was inspired by light fractal art. As the wearer walks, gold can also be seen as the lining of the long bias cut skirt is exposed through the slit. With a slight train in the back, the skirt adds to the fantasy and whimsical atmosphere of the look.

Description: This boned and fully lined one of a kind-of-a-kind look allows for adjustments to be made. The straps are ties which allows for the wearer to adjust the strap length. In addition, the chiffon part of the dress transforms. Held up by snaps, the wearer can have the train draped up or released. As an accent, gold HTV (heat transfer vinyl) was used to create an original fairy or butterfly wings that wrap around the wearer.

Description: Playing on volume and a galaxy sky, this look uses glitter tulle as an overlay for the inverted pleated circle skirt and armband sleeves. The skirt's volume comes from the petticoat undergarment and horsehair hem of the skirt. Working with a spandex fabric, the top fits the wearer nicely with a silver binded teardrop cutout at the front with a black satin mandarin collar. The collar stands out with the metallic silver piping outlining it, which matches the hand glued rhinestones of the top. To add to the theatrics of light and luminescence, fairy lights were added underneath the tulle overlay as a constellation of stars.

Description: Through smocking, dragon scales adorn the center front and back pieces of the garment. The garment is elegant with its lace up back and bubble skirt hem. The sparkle of the fabric as well as the draping of the silver chains on the front add to the fantasy element. The sparkle fabric used for the side pattern pieces of the bodice contrasts the smocked pieces, giving the wearer the illusion of being slimmer.
